How much does a dog need?
A little goes a long way. As a rough daily guide: about 1 teaspoon of plain pumpkin (or seed meal) per 5 kg of body weight, split across meals. Use plain pumpkin, never sweetened pie filling.
When to skip it
Very safe as a food. Too much fibre at once can cause gas or loose stool, so build up slowly. Always use plain, unsweetened pumpkin.
